The AICPA® Foundation Fellowship for Accounting Doctoral Students is open for applications. The Fellowship offers $15,000 to Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) interested in academia and enrolled in a doctorate course in accounting. Recipients may renew their award for three additional consecutive years.

Applications for candidates currently enrolled or enrolling in fall 2024 will be accepted from March 1 to June 15, 2024.

Each year, the AIGC fellowship program provides $1,200,000 in fellowships to over 350 Native American and Alaska Native graduate students. Graduate fellowships are monetary awards made to American Indian and Alaska Native graduate or professional degree-seeking students, who meet all eligible criteria. The United States Bureau of Indian Education federally funds the fellowship program. The fellowship amount is typically between $1,000 and $5,000 per academic year (not including summer), and varies from year to year, depending on the availability of funds and unmet financial need.

Valuing Diversity Ph.D. Scholarships

The AMA and the AMA Foundation (AMAF) announce the call for applications for the 2016 Valuing Diversity Ph.D. Scholarships.  The AMA and AMAF recognize that the number of Black/African Americans, Hispanic/Latinx and Native Americans pursuing doctoral degrees in marketing is too low to reach increased diversity in the marketing profession in both academic and corporate settings.  Through this scholarship, the AMA and AMAF provide funding opportunities for underrepresented populations in the marketing profession to attend marketing doctoral programs.  For the academic year, several $1,000 scholarships will be granted to students currently enrolled in Ph.D. programs.

The Foundation Research Grants will be awarded to Departments of Marketing in Colleges of Businesses at AACSB accredited institutions within the United States. The grants are aimed at further developing scientific research and knowledge creation in business administration with an emphasis on the marketing discipline.

Research grants are limited to tenure-track or tenured faculty in departments of marketing at institutions accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

Scholarships are available for American Indians in various fields.

Through the Chancellor’s Doctoral Incentive Program (CDIP), the California State University (CSU) provides financial assistance in the form of a student loan to a limited number of individuals pursuing doctoral degrees. The program seeks to provide loans to doctoral students who are interested in applying and competing for CSU instructional faculty positions after completion of the doctoral degree.

Details

Loans available in amounts of up to $10,000 per year, up to a total of $30,000.

Loans obtained through this program are repayable over a 15-year period, commencing one year after completion of or withdrawal from full time doctoral study.

If a participant applies, competes for, and is hired in a CSU instructional faculty position after completion of the doctoral degree, 20 percent of the loan will be forgiven for each year of full-time postdoctoral teaching employment in the CSU.

Part-time teaching in the CSU may also be considered for partial loan forgiveness, if the participant teaches at least half-time and has successfully completed the doctorate degree.

Eligibility

New or continuing full-time students who will be in doctoral programs at accredited universities anywhere in the United States are invited to apply for a loan from the Chancellor’s Doctoral Incentive Program.

CDIP is designed as a recruitment incentive program open to all graduate students at accredited institutions who are not probationary or tenured faculty members in the CSU. Lecturers are eligible and encouraged to apply.

Enrollment or employment in the California State University is not required for loan approval. However, approximately one-fourth of the awards are expected to be made to individuals who have served in CSU positions represented by the California Faculty Association in the last two years.

U.S. citizenship is not required, but applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Through the annual Deloitte Foundation Doctoral Fellowship program, the Deloitte Foundation awards $25,000 grants to 10 top accounting Ph.D.s. candidates across the U.S. Given to students who plan to pursue academic careers upon graduation, the award is intended to help cover expenses during recipients’ final year of coursework and the subsequent year to complete their doctoral dissertation.

The Laurels Fund was established in 1978 for the purpose of providing scholarships to female students who are pursuing advanced degrees in Accounting.

This Fund provides one-year scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 each, for women who are pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Accounting.

Pre-Doctoral and Post-Doctoral fellowships are available for teacher-scholars from diverse backgrounds who have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. except the dissertation or who have recently completed a Ph.D or MFA.

Eligibility

Available for one year with the possibility of a second year renewal, fellowships are open to United States citizens or permanent residents from diverse backgrounds.

Applicants must have completed all doctoral work except the dissertation by the current academic year and must be able to provide evidence that they can complete their dissertation during the fellowship.

Fellowships are available in all programs, including departments in: Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences; The School of Communications; the School of Education; and the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business. These fellowships are not applicable to the Elon University School of Law.

Fellows teach one course each in fall, winter, and spring semesters, work on your research: and participate in departmental and university life. A team of faculty mentors provides support for teaching and scholarship interests.

The Fellowships supports one year of research and writing of advanced doctoral candidates within their last year of Ph.D. dissertation writing. The Fellowship program supports doctoral candidates who are pursuing dissertation research centrally concerning financial services and the capital markets on topics related to the following areas: financial capability; investor protection; expanding access to financial services and the capital markets (including fintech services); and understanding the systemic barriers to financial inclusion experienced by underserved communities and communities of color. Graduate study may be in any academic discipline.

Fellows are selected for a one-year term through a competitive application process. The Fellowship is nonrenewable.

Fellows receive an award of up to $40,000. Each Fellow must execute a contract with the Foundation incorporating the terms of the award and other relevant terms of the program.

The Dr. Ilana Shanks Emerging Scholar Award was established in the memory of PhD Project graduate Ilana Shanks, this award recognizes an emerging scholar (within 6 years of having completed their PhD). Applications should demonstrate the scholar’s contribution to addressing significant problems, creativity and innovation, methodological and conceptual rigor in their research, the potential to substantially advance understanding of a marketing-related issue, and a focus on societal issues.

Eligibility

Applicants should be either a PhD Project graduate or a member of the Marketing Ethnic Faculty Association (an organization open to all scholars).

Award

The recipient will receive a $1,000 monetary award and a plaque, which will be awarded at The PhD Project MDSA dinner in August 2024.

Applications are accepted each year for the Mariam K. Chamberlain Dissertation Award. Established in 2013 through a generous $100,000 matching grant from the Ford Foundation, the Award honors and extends the vision of the organization’s first President, Dr. Mariam K. Chamberlain, who passed away at the age of 94 in April 2013.

The Award advances Mariam’s work to support high-level scholarship. The Award is open to any first-generation graduate student pursuing a PhD at an accredited university in the U.S.

The McKnight Doctoral Fellowship program is designed to address the under-representation of African American and Hispanic faculty at colleges and universities in the state of Florida by increasing the pool of citizens qualified with Ph.D. degrees to teach at the college and university levels. As a by-product, it is expected that employment opportunities in industry will also be expanded.

Awards

Up to 50 Fellowships are awarded annually to study at one of the nine participating Florida universities. Each award provides annual tuition up to $5,000 (tuition above this amount is waived by the participating institution) for each of three academic years plus an annual stipend of $12,000. (An additional two years of support at this same level is provided by the participating institution.)

The RRBM community is pleased to announce the 2022-23 RRBM Dare to Care Dissertation Scholarship. Scholarships of up to $10,000 each will be awarded to doctoral students in business schools who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to responsible research that matters to society in their doctoral dissertation research.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to register for an upcoming information session focused on preparing a successful scholarship application.

Applications will be accepted November 1 – 30, 2022. Award decisions will be announced March 1, 2023.

The eligible applicant is a doctoral candidate at the beginning stage of the dissertation research; is studying in a business school in any of the disciplines as long as the research falls within the described domain; and demonstrates a commitment to the RRBM Principles of Responsible Research.

Eligible research topics will generate knowledge or ideas to reduce inequality or promote social justice, especially focusing on the role of business organizations. Inequality or injustice issues that relate to one or more of the social or economic dimensions of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals are of special interest to this dissertation scholarship program.

SREB has two types of financial awards:

1. Three-to-Five Year Package: The Doctoral Award offers three years of direct program support and two years of institutional support from the scholar’s college, university and/or department, in the form of a $20,000 annual stipend. Each recipient also is awarded up to five years of university-covered tuition and fees (unless the institution prohibits a fee waiver). In addition, the program provides professional development support and covers expenses associated with attending the annual Compact for Faculty Diversity Institute on Teaching and Mentoring.

2. Dissertation Award: The Dissertation Award offers a one-year, $20,000 stipend, university-covered tuition and fees (unless the institution prohibits a fee waiver), a $500 research allowance and professional development support.

It also covers expenses associated with attending the annual Compact for Faculty Diversity Institute on Teaching and Mentoring.

The University of Kansas, School of Business, Ph.D. program encourages potential applicants to consider two opportunities
when applying to our program.

The Madison and Lila Self Graduate Fellowship program is a community of doctoral student leaders who have been
nominated and selected to receive four years of financial and professional development support. The Self Graduate
Fellowship is a merit-based program made up of doctoral students from 21 eligible academic fields. It is a unique opportunity
for doctoral students at KU to fund their education and acquire valuable leadership training for their future careers.
Throughout their time as a fellow, students receive funding that covers their tuition, fees, a graduate research assistantship
(the stipend for fall 2024 accepted students was $34,000), and the employer’s portion of student health insurance. In addition,
the School of Business provides a scholarship in the amount of $10,000 ($5,000 for the fall semester and $5,000 for the spring
semester) each year for four years to a selected Self Graduate Fellow who is admitted to the KU, School of Business, Ph.D.
program. Therefore, if admitted and selected, the Ph.D. stipend paid in the form of a GRA (and GTA for two semesters) is
$44,000. Funds from this program exceeds $200,000 over four years. In order to prepare students for their future leadership
roles, fellows are active participants in the professional development program – attending professional development
workshops, communication coaching, luncheons, and guest lectures that are provided to them through the Self Graduate
Fellowship. Each student is also awarded a set amount of funding to allow them the freedom to pursue other professional
development opportunities, such as conference attendance and certificates.
Students must be U.S. citizens, have been admitted into the KU, School of Business, Ph.D. program, have completed their first
baccalaureate degree within the past eight years, and be a new and incoming Ph.D. student or first-year Ph.D. student at the
time of nomination.

The John E. Young Ph.D. Scholarship is an established scholarship from John E. Young and Jeanne M. Logsdon used to provide
funding for African American students who were born in the U.S. and are in the University of Kansas, School of Business, Ph.D.
program. The goal of this scholarship is to increase graduation rates for African American Ph.D. students in business. The
School of Business at KU will provide a stipend paid in the form of a Graduate Teaching Assistant or Graduate Research
Assistant in the amount of $30,000 for five years, providing satisfactory progress in the program. Additionally, the recipient of
this scholarship will receive an additional $4,000 ($2,000 for the fall semester and $2,000 for the spring semester) each year
for five years making the annual stipend of $34,000 for five years.
